Shlomi Lazar is a lawyer as well as a Certified Public Accountant. He is a graduate of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in accounting and economics (1997) and in law (2003) and a graduate of the Haifa University in Statistics (Actuary, 2005). He was licensed as a CPA in 2004 after serving six years in the budget department of the Israeli Ministry of Defense and The Financial Advisor to the Chief of Staff. Since 2005 he is practicing tax and corporate law with Dr. Rafael. Most of his practice is in the realm of tax law and transactions of a complex nature, mainly those involving corporate reorganizations, the incorporation and capitalization of new high-tech entities and tax planning for venture capital, funds and start-ups. He has contributed to the 4th edition of the leading textbook on Israeli taxation and he frequently publishes with Dr. Rafael, articles on taxation matters in leading economic newspapers.
